Come As You Are - A Nation at War

Dear Lost Souls,
For better or worse, we are at war. Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday night. We invite you to take a momentary pause from the burden of these days and join us in the company of familiar friendly faces. The passion of your opinions is welcomed, but please leave your anger at the door. As always, please feel free to stop by for a quickie on route to your chosen Friday venue or to linger indefinitely. Yours,
Greg

“Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.”

  • King Cake
. . . and all the fixins'. I'm makin' up the rest as I go . . . but nobody's goin' home hungry!!Down on the corner, out in the street . . .Willy and the Po' Boys will be returning this year to accompany us with some Saints Marchin' music . . . and some other selected diddies from their extensive play list. The festivities will begin Saturday mid-morning and end . . . well, we're not sure about when the'll end. The party will likely spill into the wee hours of Sunday morning.Of course, Cocktail Hour will be on, as usual, on Friday Night, March 7th. If you've always wanted to learn how to make a roux, that is the time to come. Cocktails will be served starting at 6pm Friday. It is a fine way to warm up for Saturday. Please feel free to stop by for a quickie or . . . to linger into Saturday. Anybody who shows up (or is still there) before noon on Saturday will be greeted with a Bloody Mary to start the day with a shine. Hurricanes are expected in the afternoon with heavy participation continuing into the late evening. Back by popular demand, everybody's favorite celebrity bartender, Frank Hoppe, will be slinging bar for the last time before relocating to the wide open spaces of Nebraska. His trusty sidekick, Fletch (aka Bam Bam), may be on hand as well. If you’re not sure what to wear, remember Frank's subtle use of stripes and bright colors to set off his sparkling personality. This will also be a good opportunity to register complaints for what he did to you last year.

SOOO!
Let your Seersucker soar
Fear not the Flapper
Baulk not at the boutonniere
Take shelter in your festive head wear
We'll see ya'll there!!

Yours,
greg
