And though the date remains an anthropocentric indulgence, the magnitude of the journey is an impressive certitude worthy of pause. But still we are left to wonder if the impacts, recollections, and interpretation of this past year's happenings are themselves another self referential indulgence; a contrived landscape of eclectic dreams painted from a mixed palette of bright and ominous emotional tones; a technicolor drama of invented meaning that helps us to navigate the blank canvas of our ephemeral human existence?
