CAYA - Dr John, The Night Tripper, Has Left The Building

Dear Lost Souls,

'Towards the break of day' . . . New Orleans and the world yesterday lost a musical and cultural icon, Dr John, The Night Tripper. A Grammy award-winning musician and NOLA mainstay of creole-style jazz, boogie-woogie, and zydeco, his loss will be morned around the world, but most acutely in the Big Easy, where the Doctor held court. Tonight let us hoist a glass in his honor, sing him a song, and give thanks for the gifts of music and revelry that he showered upon the world. May the Night Tripper now find well-deserved peace and repose beneath a moss-draped cypress along Bayou St. John, and sing forever sweetly in the company of the pantheon of NOLA minstrels who he now joins.

Yes my Creole CroonersCocktail Hour is on for this evening. Cocktails will be served at 8:30pm. Please feel free to 2nd Line on by en route to your primary revelry, or to linger eternally.

Yours,
Los Cabañeros
