The Haberdashery 3.0; ⚜️Mardi Gras 2021 Sunday Porch Concert

CANCELED!!!! . . .

Dear Lost Souls,

My apologies for the Haberdite Head Fake . . . but the conditions here in New Orleans are not conducive for a porch concert, and the sound/video guy is not feeling well. That's show business!!! Apparently this Bacchus and Cupid match up is NOT off to a good start! 💘

Have a great Valentine's Day ❤️and a great Mardi Gras! . . . and we will keep you posted on upcoming events.

~

Dear Lost Souls,

In an extraordinary cosmic alignment, not hither to experienced since the New Kingdom of the Egyptian Empire, and in direct contradiction of their respective associated alignments of celebratory tendencies invoking physical proximity aggregation, 2021 Mardi Gras Sunday this year falls directly on the same day as Valentines Day. . . . wait for it . . .  in the year of COVID. It is as if, in some bawdry and sadistic intersectional theater piece of denied joyful masochism, Bacchus and Cupid meet for the first time in the modern era at the initial convening of their treatment program  . . . well, you get the idea.
'Which all sounds like a 'damn good reason to let yourself cut lose for another epic afternoon of swingin' on the porch with James Williams and the New Orleans Swamp Donkeys. 'Cher, please come and join us for some 2021 Mardi Gras cheer at the The Haberdashery . . . fondly remembering the revelry of years past, and toasting a future when we will all, once again, gather to laugh and love and dance and sing in a sweaty may-lay of shared euphoria that always was, and always will be, the way that it should be.

Yes, my Carnival Carnivores, CAYA is on for this week! The Haberdashery 3.0 is pleased to host the James' Gang for another round of homespun music mayhem. The band will turn on the porch, and light up the street from 3-5pm Central Time, Sunday, ❤️ February 14th, ❤️ (tomorrow). Please grab your valentine, or valentino, or valentina . . . or whatever the hell you are in to! Just find your way there via the eithers all the way to James Williams' FB page . . . or in the physical realm, all the way to 2705 Magazine Street, to join us for an afternoon of music and good cheer.

Please share news about the gig on your networks, and don't forget to show your appreciation, via the tip jar, for these hard working and celebrated New Orleans musician who are missing the back-to-back nonstop gigs of a normal Mardi Gras season that typically helps them pay the bills for the rest of the year. Thank you for tipping the band via their Venmo or PayPal accounts.

⚜️ Laissez les bon temps rouler! ⚜️

Yours,
Los Cabañeros

CAYAPalooza 2013 - Calling All Musicians!

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS! - Saturday May 11th, 2013:
Arts@TheHaberdashery is pleased to invite you to join us for; CAYAPalooza 2013.

On Saturday May 11th, The Haberdashery will host an all day open music jam . . . plus some lagnappe! We will have at least two play spaces available for you to jam away the lazy day. This is an invitation only event. Your family and close friends are very welcome to come and share the vibe, but please help us keep the numbers relatively low so that the focus will remain on creating a collaborative music making ‘workshop’ atmosphere, giving you the space to mix it up and explore different genres, as well as to play with new people.

Some details:
  • Time: 10:30am – 8:00pm . . . or whenever . . . until the music dies down. Show up early to take advantage of the sun in the back garden!
  • Food and beverages: We will have brunch food (and cocktails), random munchies, and some signature grill items and picnic side dishes to share, but the day will be mostly “self-serve”. Please bring along something to share and/or contribute to the barbecue. As always, we’ll have some event-appropriate adult beverages, but your favorite drink contributions are appreciated;
  • Who: You’ll recognize some faces from the fantastic jams at this year’s Mardi Gras party; including members of The Horribles, and the Karma Dogs; as well as Bernie and the Haberdites.
  • Equipment: Please bring what you need in terms of amps, cords, etc., plus perhaps extra to share in case others are lacking. Song/Fake books are encouraged, to help others jump in on your favorite material;
We hope you can join us!! Please contact us with any questions or clarifications. You are welcome to share this invitation, but please do so thoughtfully and in the spirit of creating a quality jam experience built around passionate collaborative musicians!

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, May 11th!

Sláinte!
Greg and Andy

The Arts at the Haberdashery Inaugural Event!

Dear Lost Souls,

The Arts at the Haberdashery (H@B) is very proud to announce our inaugural celebration on September 28th, 2012, at the Jellyfish Gallery (1286 Folsom Street, SoMa), in the San Francisco SoMa District. You and your friends are invited to join us as we kick off SF's newest forum for the arts with a live music performance featuring an international cast of characters. Don't miss what is sure to be an outstanding two act live show featuring:

DJ Mr. Fabulous with Oakland Symphony Bassist David Arend (Starting at 10pm)

with opening act:

Johnny Walnut (Starting at 8:30pm)

Doors will open at 8:00pm. For those of you from the East Bay who don't want to go home after work, Azúcar Lounge is on the corner and serves great drinks, or come knock on the door at the Jellyfish Gallery and you can hang out while we set up (any time after 6:30pm). There is no entry charge for this event, but the H@B would appreciate any contributions to the community bar, or small cash contributions to the tip jar to offset expenses and to provide some compensation for our musicians for their hard work!

The mission of the Arts at the Haberdashery (H@B) is to leverage the Haberdashery weekly Cocktail Hour for the purpose of supporting the visual and performing arts. Working with the Jellyfish Gallery, the H@B is excited to have the opportunity to showcase the artistic talent and energy of the SF Bay Area. Watch for future events showcasing local artists . . . and let us know if you or someone you know has a talent we can feature!

Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/artsathab

We'll see you on Friday!

Yours,
Los Cabañero at
The Haberdashery
