For all its myriad of flaws and inconsistencies, we live in a country and part of the world that offers an unprecedented level of security, opportunity, and privilege. It is safe to say that in terms of overall quality of life, we (particularly those of us on this distribution list) have the good fortune to be within the 99.9 percentile of the human experience ... not just in terms of the current global population ... but in terms of the entire sociocultural evolution of our species. While we continue to critique, challenge, and actively disrupt those aspects of our system that are in need of ongoing attention, let us also take a moment to humbly recognize that our lives are blessed with a disproportionate and unprecedented level of well being, and reflect on how we can generously share this karmic windfall in the proper spirit of the season. Now, that is something for which it is worth taking a moment to be grateful ... and the Haberdashery is happy to oblige!

They appear everywhere, howling incoherently, and impossible to silence . . . making us fear for our lives, the lives of our children, and the future of the civilized world ... threatening to chase our friends and families from their homes (and even out of the country), to take away affordable healthcare, basic human services, education support, and our constitutional right to privacy. What's more, they seek to extend this diabolical agenda to other nations and peoples who are innocent, and defenseless against their ghoulish onslaught.
