Dear Lost Souls,
Round and round . . . we dance the eccentric dance of eternity while we hurtle together through the endless void of the heavens at the speed of life itself. Let us hold on tight to our fellow cosmonauts, nurturing each other, and the fragile blue spaceship to which we precariously cling. Let us celebrate another circuit, bringing us again to the bright sun-shiny promise of the coming season. With all that is dark and ominous in the ephemeral human dramas of the age, still there is always the promise of Spring and the peaceful transition of power to Summer's glorious reign. So let us hoist a cup o' good cheer. Let us embrace our fellow brothers and sisters who are the cheerful gardeners of our mortal souls. And let us give thanks that we too have lived another day to enjoy the glory of the celestial symphony that has given us the miracle of life, resting assured that it will carry forth our legacy when we too are witness to our final dawn, and return to stardust, from whence we came.
Scottish Toast:
Here’s to a long life, and a merry one;
a quick death, and an easy one;
a pretty girl, and an honest one;
a stiff whiskey, and another one.
Yes my Ephemeral Cosmonauts, Cocktail Hour is on for this evening. Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. Please join us as we toast the Solstice, welcome Summer's reign, and give thanks for all of the generous bounty that we share. As always, please feel free to swing by for a quickie en route to your primary Solstice celebration, or to linger eternally.
Yours,
Los Cabañeros

CAYA; All Things Being Equal
Dear Lost Souls,
Night & day . . . ying & yang . . . darkness & light . . . good & evil . . . peanut butter & jelly . . . ebony & ivory . . . Milli & Vanilli . . . our world in perfect balance . . . though sometimes deceiving to the senses. We search for meaning as our center of gravity shifts to a new season . . . from today to tomorrow . . . an incremental step in a timeless, ceaseless dance, in which we search for an order, a structure, or a star to follow:
An eclectic star ignited in the celestial kiln of our infinite imagination . . . chilled by the vast distance of time and space . . . whose perception is garnished with millennium of the sweet collective human mythology that feeds our bright eyed quest for a sense of meaning . . . and perpetuates the illusion of a universe that we might dare to manifest inside our minds eye. A quantum cocktail of vast fluid possibility precariously held aloft within the fleshy temporal lens of perception through which we view our nanofraction of participation in the life of a benevolent universe.
Yes, my Intrepid Cosmonauts! . . . Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday evening. Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. As always, please feel free to rocket by for a quickie en route to your primary celestial destiny . . . or to linger indefinitely.
Yours!

CAYA; The Celestial Scales
Dear Lost Souls,
The celestial scales oscillate in their timeless rhythm . . . an intricate symphony of light and gravity . . . ellipses intersecting in golden arcs of cosmic dust sprinkled through the vast and empty darkness. And so, our little blue life raft wobbles along, offering up its tireless bounty of seasonal variations, as we sow and reap the harvest of our labors. So as the scales once again see eye to eye in the glory of the equinox, let us pause to contemplate our good fortune for being in the community of anointed cosmonauts piloting this magical biosphere on its journey toward the promise of our collective destiny.
Yes, my Quixotic Cosmonauts, Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday evening. And though the frenzied spin of our weekly toils threatens to eject us from the sweet comfort of Gaia's gracious gravities, the Haberdashery promises a soft landing at the end of another seven cycles of Apollo's golden orb. Come as you are . . . to find refuge in the collective shade of our low expectations in the eclectic company of familiar strangers, and worry not for the morrow.
Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. Please feel free to stop by for a quickie . . . or to linger indefinitely.
Yours,
Los Cabañero
NOTE!: Next week CAYA will be in San Francisco at the Jellyfish Gallery . . . with a two act show including DJ Mr. Fabulous, El Dave, and the Johnny Walnut band!

CAYA; Terra Firma
Dear Lost Souls,
This
past week, earthquakes rocked the Haberdashery's former home in
Ferrara, Italy. There was relatively little damage and loss of life, but
any is too much, and we are reminded of the fragility of our temporary
sojourn on this volatile lump of rock hurtling heedlessly through the
cosmos. Our hearts go out to our fellow Haberdites in the Ferrara area,
and as California residents, we touch wood that the Fates continue to
smile ambivalently upon our Bay Area terrestrial home. Live thee this
day that none will say it was wasted!!
Yes, my Compatriotic
Cosmonauts, Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday Evening. And so we
gather once again beneath a paler shade of light to mark the seven
passing of our brightest star. 'Tis as good a moment as any to take
stock of our good fortune, rejoice in the beauty and grace that we enjoy
in this, one of the most extraordinary corners of the earth, and forget
not that we are the benefactors of a dynamic equilibrium that is tested
with each circuit of the Sun. Now let us lift a glass to Terra Firma,
Mother Earth . . . and Gaia's gifts that sustain us through our
ephemeral journey across this vast and timeless universe.
Yours,
Los Cabañero
