Dear Lost Souls!
It seems like we just celebrated the Equinox six moths ago . . . and yet here we are again! Yes, summer is fading fast and autumn is in the air . . . along with the growing seeds of political unrest and environmental action. Sooo . . . at the end of another long week in the proverbial coal mines, a vigorous day of marching in the streets for planetary survival, or a lifetime of tireless advocacy for political revolution, we invite you to join your fellow Haberdites for some ephemeral repose at The Last Resort . . . to savor a few moments of tranquility beneath CAYA's dappled canopy of low expectations, and to taste the Haberdashery Brewing Company's latest offering, our poignant "Czechs and Balances" Lager. It is sure to remind you of the legislative countermeasures that our nation's founding fathers baked into our constitution to ward of oligarchy and corruption . . . or else hopefully (at least) it will help you to temporarily forget how completely fucked we are as a nation and a planetary species on the verge of ecosystemic collapse.
Yes, my Politically Polemic Planet Protectors, Cocktail Hour is on for this evening . . . back at The Haberdashery, and toasting the prospect of positive change that we pray is in the air. Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. Please feel free to march on by en route to your cause du jour, or to linger indefinitely.
Yours,
Los Cabañeros

CAYA - Dance Ye Heavenly Bodies, Dance!
Dear Lost Souls,
This week in West Berkeley, at The Haberdashery Celestial Observatory, we celebrate the exquisite interconnected dance of heavenly bodies as they spin and torque across the timeless arch of the universe. For one glorious evening of temporal clarity, nestled comfortably beneath the eclectic glow of low expectations, we will liberate Haberdites near and far from the primitive Newtonian constructs of past, present, and future . . . naive musings, and charming products of our limited humanoid imagination that help us cope with our ephemeral passage aboard this fragile blue spaceship, as it hurtles through the vastness of dark empty space. It is enough to make a Homo sapien thirsty for a handcrafted cocktail!
Yes, my Presumptuous Primates, CAYA is on for this evening. Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. Please feel free to wander by for a quickie en route to your evening's primary evolutionary destination, or to linger indefinitely.
Yours,
Los Cabañeros

CAYA; Equilibrium in the Cosmos
Dear Lost Souls,
Experientially front loaded and accelerating towards the infinity, summer's progression culminates in this spectacular climax of cosmic equilibrium; dark and light, distance and time, inclination and eccentricity . . . the celestial mechanics of our little blue spaceship, so beautifully combined with its Goldilocks astrophysical disposition ... facilitating our unique evolution and our thriving as a relatively higher life form. Please come help your fellow Haberdites tonight as we toast our collective good fortune and celebrate the passing of another glorious season.

CAYA; The Delusion of Balance & the Balance of Delusion
Dear Lost Souls,
Day & night. Sun & moon. Dark & light. The Equinox. This now is the delicate balance of the spheres . . . that we presumptuously label and 'precisely' measure with the mathematical contrivances of a god complex hardwired into our timeless quest to understand an inevitably ephemeral existence. The blind folly of countless 'enlightened' individuals, multiplied times the unchecked propagation of a species that misinterprets its gross shortsightedness . . . manifest in the rapid destruction of our isolated and fragile terrestrial biosphere . . . for celestial wisdom and the delusion of enlightened self determination. Better perhaps, that we simply toast the rare majesty of another day, and not presume to peer behind the opaque curtain of a heavenly clockwork, or naively pretend to work the levers of the fates. Would that we serve each precious moment on this earth up and neat, without the garnish of distractions that cloud the clarity of purest alchemy that brought us naked to this day.

CAYA; All Things Being Equal
Dear Lost Souls,
Night & day . . . ying & yang . . . darkness & light . . . good & evil . . . peanut butter & jelly . . . ebony & ivory . . . Milli & Vanilli . . . our world in perfect balance . . . though sometimes deceiving to the senses. We search for meaning as our center of gravity shifts to a new season . . . from today to tomorrow . . . an incremental step in a timeless, ceaseless dance, in which we search for an order, a structure, or a star to follow:
An eclectic star ignited in the celestial kiln of our infinite imagination . . . chilled by the vast distance of time and space . . . whose perception is garnished with millennium of the sweet collective human mythology that feeds our bright eyed quest for a sense of meaning . . . and perpetuates the illusion of a universe that we might dare to manifest inside our minds eye. A quantum cocktail of vast fluid possibility precariously held aloft within the fleshy temporal lens of perception through which we view our nanofraction of participation in the life of a benevolent universe.
Yes, my Intrepid Cosmonauts! . . . Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday evening. Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. As always, please feel free to rocket by for a quickie en route to your primary celestial destiny . . . or to linger indefinitely.

CAYA; The Equinox Comes to the Theatre of the Absurd!
Dear Lost Souls,
With another tireless swing of the celestial pendulum, we are once again witnesses to the delicate temporal balancing act of darkness and light . . . our indigo orb enjoying an ephemeral moment of fleeting equilibrium as it continues to spin wildly on an eccentric axis, and we hurtle headlong across the cosmos towards our collective destiny. And so, with another equinox, we are encouraged to clean out our karmic closets, purge our spirits of the clutter and excess baggage that we have accumulated over the course of the dark season, and plant the seeds of new beginnings that will provide us with a bountiful harvest of spiritual nourishment and serenity in the months to come. Just try not to watch the evening news for the next few months.
Yes, my Solar Sentinels, Cocktail Hour is on for the Friday evening! As always we will be strumming, humming, shaking, and stirring our way through another evening of strict experimentation, boundless low expectations, and wanton understatement. So, come sneak a peak behind the red velvet curtain of our own little Theatre of the Absurd . . . you know you're curious! Bring along your springtime seeds of anticipation to swap in the Haberdashery's Bazaar Dujour . . . irrigation and cultivation to be provided by our own crack squad of CAYA Alchemists.
Yours!
Los Cabañeros

CAYA; The Celestial Scales
Dear Lost Souls,
The celestial scales oscillate in their timeless rhythm . . . an intricate symphony of light and gravity . . . ellipses intersecting in golden arcs of cosmic dust sprinkled through the vast and empty darkness. And so, our little blue life raft wobbles along, offering up its tireless bounty of seasonal variations, as we sow and reap the harvest of our labors. So as the scales once again see eye to eye in the glory of the equinox, let us pause to contemplate our good fortune for being in the community of anointed cosmonauts piloting this magical biosphere on its journey toward the promise of our collective destiny.
Yes, my Quixotic Cosmonauts, Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday evening. And though the frenzied spin of our weekly toils threatens to eject us from the sweet comfort of Gaia's gracious gravities, the Haberdashery promises a soft landing at the end of another seven cycles of Apollo's golden orb. Come as you are . . . to find refuge in the collective shade of our low expectations in the eclectic company of familiar strangers, and worry not for the morrow.
Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. Please feel free to stop by for a quickie . . . or to linger indefinitely.
Yours,
Los Cabañero
NOTE!: Next week CAYA will be in San Francisco at the Jellyfish Gallery . . . with a two act show including DJ Mr. Fabulous, El Dave, and the Johnny Walnut band!

Come As You Are; Beyond the Ides of March
Dear Lost Souls,
Beyond the Ides of March . . .
Another equinox marks the passing of a season unjustly branded,
while the meteorological fates tempt us with the folly an
endless summer,
and the premature promise of Spring hangs spent upon the
vine.
And so we gather once again to hoist a glass in celebration
of the weekly harvest,
to share a smile, a nod, a merry tune to ease the burden of our
imagined woes . . .
and know the luxury of simple joys sheltered beneath the
Haberdashery’s canopy of low expectations.
Yes,
my Thirsty Thespians! ... Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday Evening.
As always, our composers of alchemical verse will be on hand to rhyme
away your reason, with a concoction of the season; seasons being fickle
as they may. So come wet your whistle, placate your palette, and unwind
your behind ... we are your one-stop shop for rest and relaxification
... a light at the end of the tunnel ... after another week in the coal
mines . . . don't forget to bring your canary.
Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm. Please feel
free to stop for a quickie en route to your primary Friday evening
venue, or to linger indefinitely . . .
Yours,

Come As You Are - All Things Equal
Dear Lost Souls,
The Equinox!!! Sun and Earth conspire to lend celestial meaning to our weekly constitution . . . and you would argue with the rhythm of the universe? Yes, my Bonnie spheremates, Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday evening. This will be the last official Cocktail Hour of the summer. After this, all Summer Cocktail Hours will be unofficial, or possibly officially non-summer, but definitely official Cocktail Hours, although somewhat unofficial in nature, naturally.
Cocktails will be served at 7:30pm (officially) and you are invited to take in the final ethers of this summer's spectacular performance in the shade of familiar company. The weekend begins at the top of the steps and begs your participation. As always, please feel free to stop by for a quickie en route to your chosen Friday venue, or to linger indefinitely . . .
