This week Gaia gave Berkeley a little wake up nudge ... just so that we are reminded of who is actually in charge of this big blue hurtling cosmic disco ball. So while 2018 still has that fresh earthy new-year smell, we want to take a moment to honor her power, and toast the boundless possibilities that each new day brings to our ephemeral terrestrial sojourn. This will also be a great opportunity to shatter any of those remaining pesky new year's resolutions that you haven't broken yet! ... as you wade blissfully into The Haberdashery's warm shallow low expectations and dappled eclectic star light, immersed in the soothing sounds of the CAYA soundtrack for indolence.

Come As You Are; Up Yours, 2016!

Dear Lost Souls,

It is not at all easy to find a list of good things that happened in 2016. In fact, probably the best thing to happen is that it is almost over! Be that as it may . . . Thanks to you all, the Haberdashery has enjoyed another excellent year of outstanding fellowship, good cheer, excellent food, and quality cocktails ... and the piece of mind that comes from knowing that there is always a warm, friendly sanctuary waiting for you on the road just ahead; at the end of another week in the proverbial coal mines. On this, our last CAYA of the year, we invite you to once again join us for a moment of repose beneath the comforting shade of low expectations as we toast the end of 2016 and look forward to the promise of 2017!

Dear Lost Souls,

For Auld Lang Syne, 2013 we now put to bed

counting our blessing, for how we are loved and well fed,

safe in our homes, while still connected to kin

with an embarrassment of riches, the new year to begin

But before it's all over, for one final farewell

we gather together, our stories to tell,
to hoist a last toast, and most important of all,

a Gumbo to share, in the Haberdashery Hall!

Oh yes, my Old Acquaintances Ne'er Forgot! . . . Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday evening. And in an extended celebration of the Christmas feast, we will be bridging the holidays with a cauldron of Duck & Andouille Gumbo.
