CAYA in the City; The Haberdashery goes South of Market

Dear Lost Souls,

This week the Haberdashery is proud to partner with the Jellyfish Gallery to host an evening of music, dancing, and mixology South of Market in San Francisco.
 . . . Harkening back to the hallowed days at the end of the 20th century, when the first Haberdites would gather in small bands at different undisclosed locations each week, experimenting with dark alchemy and clear spirits, we are once again taking our shakers on the road . . . and the road has risen to greet us!

Yes my Inebriated Invertebrates! ... Cocktail Hour is on for this week; SOMA Style! Coming to us all the way from Italia, DJ Mr. Fabulous will be spinning, the Cabana Boys will be shakin', and the dance floor will be stirrin'! Do you really wanna to miss this? . . . didn't think so! We will have mixers and some liquor standards on hand, but please bring along your favorite alchemical additive to contribute to the Cocktail Cornucopia . . . the more exotic the better! This is a nice big dance space . . . so bring your dancin' shoes, your dancin' friends and be sure to wear your party dress!

As always, cocktails will be served at 7:30pm . . . but feel free to stop by early if you on you're way home from work. As always, please don't hesitate to stop by for a quickie en route to your primary Friday evening soiree, or to linger indefinitely . . . indubitably . . . invertebrately!

CAYA; Earth Day, Dick Clark . . . and the Joys of 4/20

Dear Lost Souls,

This weekend gives us a number of opportunities to offer up thanks for the gifts and bounty of our Mother Earth!!
Sunday is Earth Day and San Francisco will be celebrating with a free event at the Civic Center Plaza . . . and Friday is 4/20 . . . which Wikipedia charmingly defines as a "US Counterculture Holiday". Soooooo ... Happy Counterculture Day! To celebrate these markers in the never ending celestial fox trot, we will be gathering around the Haberdashery's Hazy Hearth to share in some of Gaia's bountiful harvest, toasting Haile Selassie, and (in our own little way) honoring the passing of everyone's favorite music icon . . . Dick Clark!! . . . may Gaia rest his soul.

Yes, my Resplendent Rastafarians! ... Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday Evening. As always, our highly trained Mixology Maestros will be jammin', jammin' . . . jammin' in the name of the lord . . . shakin', stirrin' and whirlin' to fulfill your cocktail dreams. Alas, my wayward Haberdites, there will be no Cocktail Hour again this week. But we promise that we will be back in action nest week, on Friday April 20th . . . so mark your calendar for a tearful reunion of Lost Souls!

Come As You Are; Beyond the Ides of March

Dear Lost Souls,

Beyond the Ides of March . . .

Another equinox marks the passing of a season unjustly branded,

while the meteorological fates tempt us with the folly an endless summer,

and the premature promise of Spring hangs spent upon the vine.

And so we gather once again to hoist a glass in celebration of the weekly harvest,

to share a smile, a nod, a merry tune to ease the burden of our imagined woes . . .

and know the luxury of simple joys sheltered beneath the Haberdashery’s canopy of low expectations.

Yes, my Thirsty Thespians! ... Cocktail Hour is on for this Friday Evening. As always, our composers of alchemical verse will be on hand to rhyme away your reason, with a concoction of the season; seasons being fickle as they may.
